Corned-Beef and Cabbage Luncheon – Mar. 14th – after worship – The corned-beef and cabbage are furnished, bring side dishes and deserts. Please come enjoy the great food and great fellowship. Don’t forget to wear green.
Children’s Church – We will be taking a brief break from Children’s Church so that we can take time to prayerfully enhance this important ministry to the children. We will be having a Children’s Church revitalization meeting March 10 at 7 pm and ask all parents to attend as well as all others who may be interested in helping with Children’s Church in some way: teachers, assistants, mentors, prayer partner, instrumentalist, song leader, artist, good listener, the list goes on. FROM THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: Carl and Ruth Thieme Scholarship applications are now available to students attending any higher institute of learning during the 2010-2011 school year. Candidates may be members of families who are active in the church congregation or where there is a need in the local community. Contact Cindi Oellerich, Scholarship Administrator at 706-592-1564 for applications or for new requirements and applications. Completed applications must be returned to Cindi Oellerich by April 1, 2010.

Cultivating Fruitfulness, the devotional books we will read together as a congregation during Focus on the Five Practices, are now in. The members of every household are encouraged to read these devotions, Scriptures, prayers, and challenges together during the five weeks. Each week, we’ll read together about the practice that we’ll focus on in the upcoming Sunday worship.
Praying and reflecting on each practice, how it affects your life, and what it means for the life of our church will prepare you for a transforming time of worship together.

This Sunday, the focus of our worship will be Risk-Taking Mission and Service. Mission and service describe the projects and work we do to make a positive difference in the lives of others, both here and around the world, whether they ever will be members of this church or not. Risk-taking pushes us out of our comfort zone to do new and different things. During the coming week, remember to be reading the seven devotions and prayers on Risk-Taking Mission and Service in Cultivating Fruitfulness. We encourage households and friends to read the Scriptures, pray the prayers together, and take the daily challenge. Let’s find out what can happen when all God’s people learn and pray together.
